Address your interest rate concerns

If you have money in Cash ISAs or are thinking of adding to your Cash ISA and have become increasingly concerned over the interest you are receiving, compared to the rate of inflation, then read on:

EXCLUSIVE DISCOUNTS

In partnership with Whitechurch Securities, we have created two ISA portfolios that offer a mix of funds designed to appeal to the cautious investor, prepared to make a 3-year plus commitment (though you can have your money back at any time. If you cancel within the first 6 months then a £50 admin charge may apply) in an effort to improve investment growth.

We have negotiated an exclusive discount of up to 5% on the initial charge you would pay if investing with them directly. Additionally 0.25% has been taken off the standard annual charge of 1.5% saving you even more money.

Options to suit:

· Cautious Growth Strategy offers the lowest exposure to risk, with currently only 28% direct exposure to stock markets with the balance of exposure to alternative assets, commercial property and fixed interest investments, such as loans to the government (Gilts) and/or companies (Corporate Bonds). Investment growth is not guaranteed and you will be moving your money into an environment that means short term volatility will be a feature. For this reason, you should ensure you retain enough available cash for emergencies and planned expenditure, such as a Cash ISA. Please refer to the appropriate Fund Fact Sheet for more detail.

· Monthly High Income Strategy offers a slightly higher exposure to risk in return for the prospect of greater growth potential. You can mix your exposure as you see fit as, again, investment growth is not guaranteed and the same precautions should apply. Please refer to the appropriate Fund Fact Sheet for more detail.

A note regarding inflation

If interest rates were at 6% and inflation at 3%, at least investors in cash would be keeping pace with inflation. Such a scenario is very unlikely for years to come. The effect of inflation being 4.5% above interest rates is extremely damaging. Put simply, your money will be falling in terms of its buying power by 4.5%. The illusion is that you will see profit on your statement every year with £10,000 being worth £10,050 at 0.5% interest. The reality is that the buying power of £10,000 would have reduced to £9,550. Unless the money concerned is ready to use or perhaps needed in an emergency, you have no choice but to try and do better.

If you decide to invest into an ISA via this website it will be on an 'execution only' basis. This means that you have not received any financial advice regarding this particular investment from Lawrence Miller & Co.

The small print

Any investment has an element of risk. Risk is a measure of the possibility of your investment returning less than your original capital. Each investor has their own tolerance, or attitude, to the level of risk they wish to be exposed to you and the risk questionnaire which can be downloaded below, allows you to think about how much risk you may be willing to take. Completing the risk questionnaire will give you a number between 0-10, which represents your attitude to risk in number form, which is a commonly used measure in the financial services industry. A more detailed explanation of the types of investments that may be suitable for your attitude to risk should be downloaded below and read.

We currently have 2 ISA investment portfolios available that have been rated at 4 and 5. These ratings are an indication only and it may be that although your rating as calculated by the risk questionnaire is not a 4 or 5, you may still wish to invest in one of the portfolio's on offer. Clearly this is your choice and we will facilitate any choice you may make in this respect. However, if you feel that it would be beneficial for you to receive advice in this area please contact us. Please note that a fee may be charged for advice.

Notes: Exclusive discount confirmed by Whitechurch Securities is applicable to ISA investments into the Whitechurch Securities Cautious Growth and Monthly High Income Strategy portfolios when placed through Lawrence Miller & Co, FSA registered 196271, until further notice.
