Supporting local talent – Cwmbran Town U12s

Our Managing Director, Will Harris, likes to support the local community.

So when he was asked to help Cwmbran Town U12s he was only too happy to oblige. Lawrence Miller & Co. is now the proud sponsor of the back of the home and away shirts, as well as the training tops and jumpers.

The team, coached by brothers Mike and Steve Board and Ryan Pritchard, has been going since July, 2023, and now has a squad of 15.

This is the team’s first season of competitive football and the boys are doing an amazing job adapting to the new rules as well as playing on bigger pitches with

larger goals.

Mike Board said: “We’ve placed great emphasis on teaching the boys to be respectful to each other and their opponents regardless of the final result and that discipline is key. We win together and we lose together, so it’s important to show character. Ultimately we just want them to enjoy their football and to make lifelong friends.”

The youngsters were lucky enough to be flag bearers for the Wales U21 game against the Czech Republic in October and on other occasions last year, including the Wales v Finland game.

We’d like to wish them every success in 2025 and the team plays its home matches on a Saturday, at 10am at Penylan in Fairwater. You can follow their progress here on our Facebook page.
